Default TIPRONIC owners...putting it in N while moving and switching back to D...accidentally...how bad?

i was moving 30 mph and i thought i was in tip mode and shifted up only to find out that i actually shifted to neutral, so the rpm revved to like 4k and i panicked and shifted into S and i heard the tire chirp...

problem is, i always seem to do this...how bad is this for my tranny?

thanks.

Shifting into N won't cause any problems, but shifting back into D or S with the RPMs high might.

Default ive done it a few times... and redlined each time.... and no problems...

99.9% of the time i drive in tiptronic, so ive had that problems sometimes when in D because its automatic to me to push the shifter up...

Default yeah manual shifting will torch your tranny

nuetral drops = very very bad for transmission
manual shifting = bad for transmission

the computer program (even in tip mode) makes alot of decisions on shifting, which you are overriding by forcing it.

get a manual tranny man. Tiptronic on the audi is so damn boring its really pointless.

also the buttons on the steering wheel should help you avoid this as well, thats what they are put there for.

Default I can't do that unless I press the brake pedal...

were you actually able to shift from N to D without the brake pedal???

while driving... you can go from D to N and back to D... at a stop you must apply brakes
