tiptronic is just audi's way of saying automatic ...

It come's with a clutchless shifty thing too, but its slow.

CVT and multitronic are the same :-\

Tip = Smart automatic gear box, the driver can manually select gears, but it is basically a traditional automatic.

Multitronic = Audi's CVT implementation. Use a variant steel belt that transfers power, more effecient than the traditional auto.

Default triptronic isnt clutchless shifting, not in the least bit

Tiptronic is a 100% straight up automatic transmission. The transmission computer is what gives you the ability to hold gears and shift as you choose, the transmission is no different. This is why you can buy a retrofit kit for a traditional automatic up to a tiptronic and you never do any mods to the tranny itself.

Sequential gearboxes are clutchless. They are a manual gearbox that automatically clutches for you, hence no need for a clutch pedal. This is used in F1 cars and the BMW M3 has it. ZF makes that tranny for BMW and I'd expect to see it in an Audi within the next 2-3 years.

Back to origional questions

You can get a 1.8T w/quattro in Tiptronic or Manual

You can get a 1.8T w/o quattro in Tiptronic, Manual, or Multitronic (CVT)
