Default Tire question: how deep can a nail or screw go into a tire before it's considered dangerous?

I found a screw in my front passenger tire (~10k miles) last week and ended up pulling it out with a key. Luckily it went into the thickest part of the tire, but the screw being approximately 1/2 inch long I'm afraid it nearly went all the way. So far there hasnt been any loss of tire pressure, but I am weary of it blowing at high speeds or hard impact. Should I have this patched up? and how?

Default If its not leaking now I wouldn't really worry about it.

If it didn't go all the way thru they wont even patch it.

If its a 1/16" from breaking the inner wall, I'd be concerned.
