Default Tire question-pirelli p-zero nero m+s, toyo proxy 4, or bridge ponz 750-which would you purchase

Have to get new rubber. Wondering what the best price/performance would be. Any thoughts?

Default I've heard good things about P-zero Nero M+S and Toyo Proxes 4.

If I was shopping for a/s tires right now, I would buy the Proxes 4's.

Default I have pirelli p-zero nero m+s

My wife's '02 Avant (1.8T Sport Package) came with ContiSport Contact 2's (235/45-17). We replaced them with the PZero Nero M+S at about 20k miles when the OEMs wore out. I wanted an all-season tire for the occasional snow/slush we get in N.C.

I've been reasonably happy with them. Grip and handling is as good as the original Conti's (though this is my wife's car, strictly a commuter, no modifications, so we don't really push it). The Pirelli's now have ~25k miles on them, and may get 5k more (or maybe not). I'm considering switching to the Proxes 4's when the time comes -- would love someone who's had both to give a comparison.

My biggest complaint with the Pirelli's is that they seem more prone to hydroplaning once they get worn, more so than the Conti's did when they were worn. (Obviously, a worn tire won't evactuate water as well as a new one -- it just seems to be one of the weaknesses of this tire. Relatively minor.)

Good luck,
Dave

Default I had the Nine-Fiddy when it came out.Great performance tire, not for all-seasons.Dangerous in snow.

They are great tires, I use them again if I never saw ANY snow. Long tread life. Nice turn-in and ride. fwiw, this is them on my B6. the day I almost face-planted it into a guard-rail. If you want any snow traction with that nice Bridgestone feel, look at the G-009. They are cheap and have a chance in snow. I have them on right now, not on my snows yet (PA). My next try is Yokohama V4S. I've had an insane variety of all-seasons. Dunlop SP5000 and Conti Extreme are the best I've used. I am always trying new tires, friends and family are the ones who get tried-n-true ones like Dunlop Sport A2...not great handling but good ride, quiet and great in snow.

Default Re: I've heard good things about P-zero Nero M+S and Toyo Proxes 4.

I just replaced the original Conti Sport Contact2's with the P Zero Nero M+S about a month ago. In Chicago, we get occasional big snows in the winter, but this year we've gotten dumped on. The Conti's were downright dangerous in any kind of snow. I can't believe Audi sells these tires on Quattros in the snow belt. The Pirelli's so far have been great. Excellent traction in snow and rain. They ride well and are very quiet. Car handles as well or better in the dry as the Contis. Proxes 4 have a good rep as well. Also considered the Conti Extreme Contacts but they seem to be biased a little more to snow. Got the Pirelli's at $135 each in 235/45-17 at Tire Rack. I'm considering putting the Pirelli's on my 18's as well as I think they are an excellent performance to price choice.

Default how many miles? tired of using up tires-just wondering if the Proxy4 will hold up as good as....

the pirelli tire. Proyx 4 is rated 300 in tire wear and the Pirelli is 400. The pirelli's are $30 or so more-is it worth it? Will it wear slower than the Proxy. Still not sure which set of rubbers i want
