My Dunlop SP9090s like to screech a bit but otherwise LOOK awesome- they can be a bit loud though

Default Ok so...

how's the performance of the Contis? I guess you said not as good as the Dunlops, but are they still pretty decent in terms of dry and wet grip and quick steering response?

Thanks!

Default As part of my negotiated deal...

Thanks for all the advice. I should tell you that part of the deal I negotiated is that I can have the dealership swap any tire on any car they have for free as long as it is the same size. There are some TTs on the lot that have Michelin Pilot Sports. I've had these tires on my Jetta and they lasted 40K miles. However, I've never been able to compare them to anything else.

TTs have different tire sizes so your deal would probably not work there.

That sucks cause the TTs have 17" wheels. Are they different widths?

Default well, two things...

First, the rims for TTs have different bolt pattern (5x100). Your A4 has 5x112 bolt pattern.

Second, TT tires are 225/45/17. Your A4 comes with 235/45/17 tires in the sport pkg. option.

Default My buddy told me that my car (w/Conti's) handles way better than his 540i 6M...

I took him on a winding back road, and at the end, he said hands down, my car is much tighter and handles much better than his. He also said my tranny and clutch is better too. If anyone cares.

well, I wonder how much of that is attributable to the suspension, and how much to tires.

Hard to tell. His car did have the sport suspension as well though. No screeching on mine either.
