Default Wow, what a day! My (son's) A6 H Sport sway bar bolt sheared off too.

I wonder if there's a problem with a batch that they got?

An annual alignment and tire rotation once a month are in my future. =)

Default

I have no idea what could have caused it.

Default I didn't get the printouts. I asked for them after the job was done but they didn't save them after

they took the car off of the alignment machine. The mechanic said the toe was well out of spec on all four corners.

Default "Well out of spec" is consistant with the tread wear evident. The numbers don't matter much,....

with the tech's statement, that is sufficient to conclude the cause for the wear is now resolved. Thanks for the follow-up!

Default Once a month would be overkill IMO. I rotate every 5K miles -- easy to remember because that's when

I do my oil changes. If I miss the rotation by a couple hundred miles, no biggie. I buy my tires at Discount Tire, so I take advantage of their free balancing and rotations (most tire shops offer this). Easy enough to rotate myself, but I like to get the wheels rebalanced with each rotation. They are the only tire shop in my area I trust to touch my wheels -- never had a problem with them scratching or gouging the wheels like other shops, and they take care in properly putting the lug bolts back on and torquing by hand.
