It works fine as advertised, but I noticed I was able to get 1/2 quart of oil more drained out of the car by doing it the old fashioned way from underneath. I dont really think i'll use it anymore. Not enough of a hassle putting the car up and draining it from below to justify the laziness factor of using the oil extractor. Anyone else have this experience? cheers! mike

but I have noticed the same thing as you, even when I have moved the tube around a bit. I haven't measured to see if it is quite the same amount as you, but I suspect it's close.

Is this like a 10-20 minute suck or a 1-2 minute suck, condsidering theres no reason to go underneath any more for the filter, does it work fast enough to make it worth it.

timed it, but it does go quickly. I like it for the in-between quick changes and it really makes things very easy to do.

It's kinda nice not to get a huge splash of oil in your face/pan when you pull the plug after extraction. The only problem I know of is when the oil is too cold, it barely won't come out. Most cars I get 99% the 1.8t as well...but I can't really be sure as I don't fully remember draining with the plug after the extractor on a 1.8t, I will check it out next time though. I noticed on the Honda, if the probe was in too far, it would draw air. I had to pull it out to reach oil. Like I said, only a spit came out after I pulled the plug. Some cars only a few drops. I'd say try it again. I know it's no fun to leave old oil in, but even getting 80%-90% is very helpfull for DIY guys when the alternative is not changing at all. The cost of an extractor and 4q of oil is nothing in the scheme of things. You know, it's all about replenishing the additves...gotta get 'er done!
