Default I'm curious. It looks messy to get the oil out of that pump now, no?

Looks like the next step to clean out that pump is like cleaning out a turkey fryer.

I have the lil round one, the Pela 6000. It's got a spout to pour the old stuff out..

German Syntec? It's a great winter oil, best I know of.

Default Should work nice w/your BMW & its canister filter.Extract, pull out filter from top & refill

jerrybleach.com I have the Pela 6000, takes 6 litres. If the BMW takes 8 quarts you might want a bigger one, although it'll work either way.

Default Yea, but it needs to come off anyway for the filter change.

I change my filter everytime I change the oil.

I find the belly pan definately comes off easier than it goes back on. Not too bad though... it comes off in a minute or two and maybe 5 min to put it back on.

Default Not at all. It's right under the coolant resevior.Takes 30 sec.Virtually same as a normal oil change-

without barely even bending over.

I agree. Taking the belly pan off AND replacing is done in under 5 minutes.

Default Without bending down, I can have the filter changed before you even get up on the ramps.

He said it "needs" to come off. I, personally, don't find crawling under the car at ground level in sub-freezing temps and wrestling with the belly pan and it's myriad of fasteners to be pleasant or necessary. I can get the oil out and the filter off without putting a knee on the round. Am I missing something?
