Is it trouble to have sport package wheels in snow?

Tires, of course, are more important but (m)
The wide spoke pattern of our sport wheels can cause snow and ice accumulation within the wheel, which is suboptimal.
We had almost a foot here in Harrisburg today, and my sport rims with Sumitomo HRT+ All-seasons performed extremely well. I slid around a little, but not more than I expected, and had no trouble climbing tough non-plowed grades.
There is definitely snow buildup in the wheelwhich I will clean out before it freezes in there.
Anybody else have an opinion on this?

Amen to that
I made it work without any major incidents today, but I knew 1 minute into my commute that I definitely to change the sport tires to winter or all-season tires!
