Trunk not opening

I searched but couldnt find what i was looking for...i can only open my trunk via the button the on the key....could it be the motor that opens/closes the latch, the cable? is this a DIY

This happened to me last summer. The motor operating the latch is definetly shot, you need to order a new motor. I purchased mine from the dealer, you can try online as well. Its not fresh in my mind, but I know you have to remove the trunk lid liner to get to the motor and from there you disassemble the motor and it should come out fairly easily. sorry its late i'll post more in the morning!

Before you go out and buy a new motor, try this first. Take out the motor and lubricate the pieces with synthetic motor oil. ( I used a cotton swab) Lubricate every single moving piece well. When I reinstalled, it has worked fine ever since. And this is over a year ago.
I suspect that over time, the moving parts may have gotten sticky.
