if you are doing that, you won't only see a glowing turbo, but you'll be spitting turbine blades out of your exhaust!
other than that...I wish I could explain that. Are you at high altitude, or climbing hills right off the bat? The turbo will work harder in those conditions.

Are you noticing it in complete darkess, or outside in the sunlight with the hood up. In the dark, I woldn't be suprised. But if you can really notice it in daylight, i might be inclined to think twice. I'm running high boost and big injectors and don't notice that during daylight after normal driving.

Not overstressing it, then perhaps it is not normal. You also mention that the cat is red and glowing too? Now that does not sound normal. Do you feel a loss of power? Does the car perform normally?
If not perhaps there is a problem. The cat glowing as me thinking that perhaps it is starting to get blocked. Maybe a visit to a tech is in order.

I notice it in the dark. The performance seems normal, I just don't understand the glowing, does anybody else have this? It is acually glowing at the manifold and right in front of the turbo.
