Default turn signal problem

Just had my 50K service done yesterday. Had 3 coils replaced, and got new spark plugs. Today I'm driving and I get an indicator light telling me that my front right turn signal is not working. Next stop light I come to, traffic is backed up, and I've got my turn signal "on", and after about 5 minutes waiting for the green, the turn signal light starts working again, indicator light gone, back to normal. For about 2 miles, then indicator light comes back on. Same thing. I get out of my car, and since it is raining I've got my lights on, and the turn signal bulb is lit, just doesn't blink. Got home, tried the signal, after about 5 minutes its working again. Then about 30 seconds after it starts blinking, its not working.

Is there anything I can do without having to go back to the dealer? My thought is an electrical issue?

Default well, without taking your headlight housing out

you cant trouble shoot it. It may be that the bulb is loose, doesnt sound like a fuse, could be somthing with the harness.

Default took out the housing, bulb seemed fine - wasn't loose

put it back in, turn signal worked. left it on for a few minutes and it seemed to work without interuption. i'm gonna ask the dealer to take a look at it when i bring my car in for glove box repair. thanks for the suggestion!

Default Had similar problem recently..

with my front left turn signal. It would be out and then while sitting at a long light it would start working again.

Took it to the dealer and they replaced the bulb and headlight side bulb holder. They said there was a short in the bulb holder and that's why the problem came and went. Mine was covered under warranty.

Default well if you take it out again, on the turn signal socket....

the three contacts. Pry them out with a little screwdriver and your done.

Default I had the same problem with 3 out 4 signal lights on my 2002 A4. Took it the dealer each time and

the problem had something to bad grounding.

Default Had similar problem last year with 2003 A4 1.8TQ

in which right front turn signal flashed at triple speed and indicator light went on to report right front bulb out. Minutes later, everything would work normally...when returned to dealer for service, dealer replaced entire headlight assembly due to "defect."
