i got a 2003 a4 with about 130,000 miles on it. recently my right front turn signal started acting wierd, it would work sometimes, but then other times it wouldnt work, it was on and off like that for a while, untill last week when it just quit working, a warning light pops up for it on my dash. i checked and every other turn light works like it should. on ocasion it will blink right once or twice but then it stops and the warning pops up on my dash agian. i have been told 2 things, one was that it is a bad turn signal relay switch, makes since but i called everywhere, even dealers and you cant just buy the relay, its all one unit in the hazzard switch. the other was its a bad connection in the headlight or wires, that comming from a mechanic who hasnt seen the issue. i just explained it to him just like i am to you. What would be causing this, if its the hazzard switch i read you can switch the hazzard and turn signal relays, but then you wont have hazzards, is this true? thanks for any help with my problem

When it stops working, is the light out completely, or just not flashing? Because in the first couple of years I owned my 2002, my turn signals would quit every few weeks or so. That indeed turned out to be a wiring problem, but it took several trips to the dealer for them to hit the right harness or connector. I think something just wasn't fully connected in one of the harnesses. Unfortunately, I never found out which one.
