well... i have noticed this this one gas station that is called United Oil which I assume is a budget gasoline such as Arco because their prices are even lower than Arco, and the type of cars that fill up there for example are like pintos. I always think to myself when I pass this gas station, "I would never pump this crap into my car" Anyways...
I was returning from a late night at work arounmd 2 a.m. and pulled into a Unocal 76 to fill up, to my surprise, there was a United Oil gas tanker refueling the gas station.
First reaction was, WTF?! So I walk up to the tanker driver and ask him, why he's pumping in United Oil gasoline into a 76 gas station? He hesitated and didn't respond, just kind of grunted.
So I leave that gas station, and pull into another 76. I look at the price for 91 octane and it is $2.50!!! I asked the gas station attendant why it's so damn expensive compared to other 76 gas stations in the area. He points to a sign that he has taped up to the window which reads, "This gas station uses REAL 76 gasoline and doesn't use seasonal gasoline like other 76 stations."
So now this is all too confusing. What the hell is going on?
Some gas stations are pumping in generic brand behind customers backs and passing it off as real quality gasoline to save a buck or two?
Everything just seems a little too suspicious. Gas tanker filling in a different brand gas into a 76 gas station at 2 a.m. in the morning where there is no one around? Another 76 gas station that claims to use REAL 76 gasoline?
