Default UPDATE... Carbonio CAI...

I'm sad to say that after looking at a way to install this little masterpiece on my car, it won't work. I've been in talks with Carbonio on how to re-route the tubing, I've even sent them pictures of the Dual I/C set up but to no avail, there is simply no room. If I ever go to a custom made FMIC, rest assured that the Carbonio will be part of that upgrade. I would like to thank Paul and especially Rob at Carbonio in their efforts in trying to find a solution for my set up. There is still a glimmer of hope because they told me, they may in the future try a different unit.

Default Damn. I wanted the Carbonio also but have Duals...

I'd be more than happy to give them my car for a prototype also. Especially considering they are local to me.

No. If I go FMIC, it will be custom designed.

Default Actually that would be a great ideal. I would have driven down to help them out. You should give ...

Rob a call ASAP. Maybe if they saw a car instead of picture, it would help. Tell them you were speaking with me about it.

do you think that the APR FMIC is a good one? because of its design?

Default I'm not an expert on such matters but I'm sure they did their homework...

However it does not mean that it will be good for everyone and their kits.

Default quote from the site.....

"After months of rigorous testing with a core from RaceTec Engineering, we've developed what we consider to be the finest front-mount intercooler (FMIC) for the price, for Audi's '02+ A4. Installation is an absolute breeze compared to most FMICs...and the performance gains, well, the dyno results speak for themselves.

When comparing the fifth dyno runs of each set (five consecutive runs were performed for each intercooler to represent a "real-time" driving condition where the turbo system gets heated and loses power), our FMIc put out 18 HP and 26 lbs. torque over the stock unit...and those numbers are to the wheels!

Our front-mount intercooler:

has been dyno tested to show performance gains to the wheels.
is 100% bolt-on and requires no modifications to the stock chasis/body.
can be used with the factory bumper and doesn't require an aftermarket body kit.
allows the fog lights/headlight washers to be fully functional in their stock locations. "<ul><li><a href="http://www.boostedtech.com/audi_02a4.asp">http://www.boostedtech.com/audi_02a4.asp</a</li></ul>
