Default Update: The rear exhaust hanger mod from the B7 S4 was a failure.

I originally replaced the hangers because some had suggested that the rear B7 hangers tucked in the exhaust tips about 1/2 an inch higher. Didn't work for me, they did raise about 1/4 of an inch but that's it. I will proceed with my original plan and I'm going to rig them to bring the exhaust tips higher while allowing height adjustment and compensation for heat expansion and contraction. This should be fun. I will keep you posted.

Default Please do

I need to adjust my Milltek tips up but I'm worried about cutting and rewelding the hangers to the muffler...

Default how about a thick zip tie around the hanger?

I wonder if it would bring the exhaust high enough, because the hanger is kinda rubbery, there might be enough play.

did you bend the metal hooks some? how about a hose clamp to keep the rubber from sliding over?

Default Damn, I already had my indy shop order the same hangers for me..

as the left side exhaust is a little lower than it should be. My exhaust is stock. Don't know what setup you have. I'll still give it a try and see what results I get.

Default zip ties work as long as you get the thick, heavy duty ones...

had the same issue with mine where my millteks hung low. used the zip ties and they are durable; just double them.

the only thing was that my tips still stuck out a bit so they looked like rocket boosters. hehe!

Default I have done zip ties and hose clamps, the reason they don't work is because after a few

hot & cold cycles they still move a bit and eventually hang lower.

No. Two reasons, 1. Nasty rust (on some) 2. Can not expand and contract.
