I agree with a4tis... they don't get the reputation they have without lying...
plus it isn't even just the salesmen, it's the service writers, dealer management, and dealership in general.
It's pathetic!

1. they offered me a carfax...and it came up clean. I still have the copy right here.
2. they said that it hasn't had any 'structural damage', but if the frame was straightened, and the rear panel replaced, then it has.
3. right after i purchased the car, the service manager of an audi dealership looked at it, and said that it had been in an accident. i shrugged it off because he didn't specify. he knows who i am, and what car i have. i'm sure that he would be able to sign something or attest to the fact that i did not incur the damage, and that it was there when purchased.

here's an excerpt from the Pennsylvania Automotive Industry Trade Practice Regulations

Given PA law, and the specific situation with your case, you should consider....
consulting a lawyer specializing in this area of law. Most lawyers will provide a free initial consultation, and can tell you it they believe you have a winnable case or not. If you decide to consult, prepare an outline of all the important points supporting your argument, and also, ask the Audi dealership Service Manager if it would be OK to use him as a expert witness, so you could give his name to a lawyer during consult. In addition, this doesn't mean a lawsuit is necessary, just a letter from a lawyer(minimal cost to you,) representing your case, should be enough to obtain the appropriate remedy.

So wait... can't you take it up with Car Fax then...
don't they have guarantees?
If they say a car is clean, but it had frame damage....
I mean if they aren't responsible then what is the point of Car Fax in the first place ?

i don't think that i can...also, i can't necessarily prove that the frame *was* (more)
straightened, but it must have been hit hard enough in the rear to make the left quarter buckle, which was replaced, and also to warrant putting it on a frame machine to either straighten it, or check it.
car fax is pretty lame IMHO
