Default carfax is useless...except it *does* show big ticket items, but smaller damage (more)

is not reported. however...that damage is important as well.

Default NEW! I took the car to the Audi Body shop, and they said (more)

that they were the ones that had done the repair! I had him print out a sheet of the estimate for the repairs, which was for $5700 and includes repainting the entire rear AND replacing a panel.

The Acura dealership is saying that their reports show that the car was clean, and that carfax said it was too. So, I faxed this information over to them that proves that I bought a car with $5700 in repairs that they did NOT disclose to me.

Default I'm not sure I understand though. If it happened before the dealership got it how are they...

supposed to know it was in an accident other than best guess at looking at the parts on the car. My guess is that they run the same Carfax you do and if it comes up clean and the title is clean they sell the car as clean. I dont believe the law requires them to report a car was in an accident if there is no evidence presented to them it was in an accident (salvage title, carfax, was fixed by that dealership, etc.). Or am I reading this wrong and they are the ones who had the car fixed?

cheers! Mike
