Default updating bulbs

Hello everyone from me, the newest member!!!
i have an A4 B6 2004
Thinking about updating fogs and side lights only to something brighter than halogen. But....did this on my old B5 and the current it drew was too strong and melted the plastic on the wires and caused a short!!
Has anyone done this without such problems and what did they use.
Thanks
Maudi62

You can retrofit HIDs or LEDs in the fogs or low beams relatively easy. 35w kit is what's recommended.

I learned the hard way that on my '93 A6, which was brand new at the time, that Audi had spec'd the headlight connectors very close. When I put in higher-watt bulbs and nothing happened, I guessed I was ok. Wrong! After a little bit things stopped working, and I had the unpleasant job of rewiring to repair the melted plastic.

TRS has a nice retrofit kit for Morimoto Mini H1 projectors.

I recommend at least changing to HID projectors if you go HID. I highly do NOT recommend going LED. LED is marginally better in output than halogen and has none of the optical properties for either halogen or HID projectors and thus will great immense amounts of glare blinding other drivers.

I know Im a newbie here so nobody will listen to me.

These are my headlights. Joey modded, reflector delete, Morimoto Mini H1 projectors with 4500k bulbs, dual high beams (projectors plus halogens). Amber demon eyes.
