Default And if it breaks after 80k, you won't buy another one!

Audi isn't playing it fast and loose with oil changes just to save a few bucks. It's not enough that they sold you 'a car'. They would like sell a few and hopefully you'll be happy.

To assume that they don't care about durability once the warranty has past is a little short-sighted. If the engine falls apart after warranty and you have to pay for the repairs, you'll mostly likely never buy another one again!

Default that's true, but as it is, most people buy extended warranties up to 100K miles...

so even if it does break, it gets fixed, and Audi does not pay for it.

Default not that i am a cheap skate or anything..i am talking about longevity....

i just think that Audi would think to include synthetic oils in their service, instead of regular oil. not that i care that i spend extra on getting Amsoil, it is just that i feel they might have less warranty issues if they just used the best stuff for our cars....

just would rather have my car last a while..cuz' i love my A4 baby....=)

Default well, unless you can explain why they only recommend an oil change every 10,000 miles...

...then you can be as smart as the Audi engineers....=)

Default Re: Upset at Audi 10,000 mile service

I was told by dealer upon delivery that my 1.8T was shipped with fully synthetic oil and that if I desired an oil change pre the 10,000 mile service to make sure I was using a fully synthetic blend. Was I misinformed? Do they come shipped with regular oil? How could that be if they are advising 10,000 miles before the first service? Also do your 19 inch rims fit well or do they rub at times?
