I think you just have to use common sense and watch out for potholes..

I've had mine, and I have to deal with those mean philly streets, and I haven't bent a 19 yet. I also went with a 245/35/19 tire for a little extra padding as opposed to a 235/35/19. I had 17" wheels with 205.40.17's on my civic for about 2 years and never bent a wheel either.
