Ok, so I call up the dealer and ask what they perform for the 80k service (coming up and planning on doing it myself of course, but just wanted to see what they would say). Anyways, they said they "replace the ribbed belt and the v-belt."

I know the ribbed = serpentine, but what's the v-belt? I ordered my Bentley manual the other day but haven't gotten it in the mail yet, so of course I'm anxiously awaiting the manual for some more information, can someone assist?

This is a V-belt.

They were fased out on all Audi's in early 90's...at least in the States.

'96 in Italy as part of the STW championship. Pirro took the championship in both years. In '96, car dominated teh field by winning 7 out of 9 races. They used them in other countries as well.

This specific car was not the one and I can't remember where it was campaigned exactly. There was a link floating around about this car's rebuild by a shop in Spain.
