Default V1 remote display (Card Tray installation)....

I gave in and ordered a remote display for my V1. Anyone around that could lend some advice on how to do this? Pictures? tray removal? my searches only yielded a couple souls that tried it and they only posted a picture of the final product. Anyone?

FYI... by card tray, i mean the pop out tray just right of the ESP button.

Default I don't have the card tray in my car, but good idea ordering the remote display

I don't know why anyone would run without the remote display. I personally don't like people behind me seeing the lights of my detector in the window (especially bad at night). The cops coming up behind you at night can see detectors a mile away if the display is lit at night.

You will probably have to drop that panel on the drivers side knee area, and then maybe take apart the center console area.

I velcro'ed my display in my speedo area. Works for me.

I did the same setup on my wife's C230, and our Hyundai (out commuter car). Yes, I own 3 V1's.

Default ya.. thats a popular place... but it just doesn't work for me..

i want something more discrete and not so noticeable. If i did get pulled over, i would rather it be somewhere that isn't so noticeable. plus lifting my hand off the shifter up to the card holder (to mute an alert) is much more convenient than on top of the steering column.

How about in the ash tray? That seems like it may fit what you're looking for?

Default On the B5 they were, but if you got Navi in the B6 3.0 it is color

Some early 2002 people 1.8 and 3.0 people got color screens in their car too. I think the factory ran out of the red screens in production.
