Default vag com help...

Alright guys, i got a vag-com today and now i want to use it. Normally I know what i am doing with electronics first before i buy it but in this case i have no idea. I know not to do something stupid that could ruin my car but i want to do some cool stuff. (at least i think it is cool) i want to be able to turn my fog lights on without the headlights and i know it can be done on 2002s which is what i have. Let me know how i can do this. steps would be helpful. I have played with the ross-tech interface a little bit now and i sorta know my way around. Also, tell me what other things i can do that you guys that are cool. Thanks in advanced.

Default Can't help much on the fog light mod (I have an 03) but I can tell you this...

When you get to the right module, there's a value that you need to put in that represents changes to the binary values. I just got my VAG to and I don't quite understand how they come up with the values. But if you want to control your windows with the remote, value 16200 worked for me in module 46 or 47. It's the central conv. Here's the link I used.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec13.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec13.shtml</a</li></ul>

Default Change the headlight coding to Canadian DRL.

As for the exact code I can't remember, but you can it up in diagnosticator1's link.

Default Find the module for the central conv. Click on the "Recode" button and the value

should be 11788. If so, type in one of the codes from the list and hit save or "do it". That's it. The changes will work immediately.

You know you got the right module when you see the 11788 value in the recode section.

Default You could vag to do things like: Windows up & down with remote...

Doors autolock at 15mph and unlock after ignition key is removed. Those are the ones I can think of.. Follow the link from diagnosticator1's post for info on coding.
Good luck.

Default I changed the headlight coding to "all others" because...

I didn't want the fog lights on all the time, only when i want, which is what the "all others" codes allows without the headlights on. But thanks for your help because thats how I discovered what i prefer.
