Valentine One or Lidatek? Can't decide...
Had a Valentine One, but it was in the Suburban when it was stolen...so can't decide which one to get. They're both practically the same price.

you need to do some research on what a V1 does and what a lidatek does
lidatek is a laser jammer. go to the lidatek website and read the FAQ

get an escort passport 8500 x50... got mine for 270
for saving 130 bucks over the v1....
i got one with arguably better range and the face of it is less bulky and it has mute/auto mute functions...
i like it and especially like it for the savings...

its not really a matter of which is more common...
just having a radar/laser detector won't be enough to fight laser... because if you're detecting it its already too late...
as well just having a laser jammer won't save you from radar
i only have a detector and i haven't felt the need to have jammers...knock on wood

I have had 2 valentine 1s. The first was stolen from my car, and that same day, I ordered another one. I cannot go a day without it. I have had many different radar detectors, but theres something about the sensitivity, bogey counter, and arrows that just make the valentine 1 better than any other radar detector on the market.
for a laser jammer, I have the escort ZR3. I was going to get the lidatek, but after reading about the two different ones, I decided to go with the escort ZR3. The ZR3 has 3 different laser sensors. two in the front and one in the back. the LE30 can do that too, but the cost of having three is insane. I have read from many people that both work and are very god.
with the valentine 1, once you use it for a week or so and are saved from a cop in a situation where another radar detector would not have worked, you will wonder how you drove without it. sometimes I am in areas where there are already radars, and having a counter helps me determine whether something is a cop or not. though some other radars show the number of radars in lines on the led screen, it helps a lot to know what direction the cop is at.
try the valentine1 for 30 days and you won't regret the $399. I have had three of my friends buy valentine 1s just from seeing how it has saved me.
also, i live in texas. and id say in the city it is mostly radar. however, on the long drives in the country if a cop is sitting in his car, hes most likely radar. the cops using lasers are outside of their car and hiding. ive even seen some ontop of over passes looking down catching people. i got his with a laser before i got the laser jammer by a cop hiding behind a tree in the middle of texas. the cops have to be outside of their car and cannot move the laser, so its harder to notice them.
best combition id say is v1 with either the le30 or zr3.
