Default The value of an extended warranty when selling my 2003 A4??

I’ve got 70,000 miles on my 2003 A4 1.8TQ and I want to list it for sale soon. I’ve paid it off and my plan is to buy or lease a 2010 A4 after I sell.

My Warranty Direct Secure Plus (a legitimate and comprehensive extended warranty) is transferable to any buyer. That warranty ends in 18 months (January 1, 2011) or when I hit 100,000 miles. I drive less than 15k miles per year now. I’m looking for some guidance on whether to hold it to 100k or try to unload it now (Edmunds TMV says it’s worth around $10,700 private party resale).

How valuable do you think prospective buyers will find a 6 to 15 month (extended) warranty? Should I list the car for more because of the warranty? I bought the 50k extended warranty before my Audi warranty expired in part because I thought it would help me sell it later and get more money for it. I’ve heard and read that many people worry about the A4’s long terms reliability past 100k miles, including me. I won’t be driving it after the warranty expires.

What would you do? Drive it longer and closer to the warranty expiration date or sell it ASAP? Thanks in advance.

I found when selling my car, people didn't seem to think it added value, just like something that sweetens the deal.
