Default The Verdict is in on the HRE 546R's

Ok, so I went to a shop at lunch to look at them. Here is the final verdict. 19x8.5 in the front with a 2 inch lip, 19x9 in the rear with a 2.5 inch lip. Priced as a set, with BF Goodrich tires, mounted and balanced, $6400 and some change. I went to a shop in HB and saw the rims in person. Side by side the 546r versus the 546 series was a HUGE difference. The 546r's have no bump on the lip, just flat to the inner rim as opposed to the 546's with the bump. The 546r's are a larger inner rim, 3 piece, and with the charcoal inner, I almost had an orgasm. If you don't know what bump I am speaking of, its the inner seam on the lip of the rim that makes it possible to use a smaller inner rim on a larger wheel, hence, fake 19's. You guys don't understand how damn sexy those rims are in person. Yes they are pricy, but hell, rather than saving 10-15% by going with I Forged or BBS or OZ racing, I would rather go all out. Look, I sacrificed what I liked for my 2000 A4 in features to get the payment I wanted, wasn't happy. Got my fully loaded 2002 GTI, but it wasn't an Audi. I finally spared no expense on getting my new A4 Ultra Sport, and I am willing to spare no expense on the rims. If I am going to do it, I want to do it one time, and do it right. No Regrets.

These rims are an absolutely BEAUTIFUL piece of art, and I would encourage any of you to go see them in person. As for my 18 inch Ultra Sport rims, 700 miles, NO scratches WHATSOEVER, and tires, I start the bidding at $1,250. It is going to be probably July 10th that I take delivery and installation of my HRE's, simply because I am going to pay half on june 10th, have them custom made, then the other half upon delivery and installation. All I have to say is if I call you to refinance a house, there is no way in hell I am getting off the phone until I have you locked in, because these rims are my new obsession and I will have them. Period. I do value all of your opinions, but there is nothing that can be said to sway me. Thanks, and damn, they are so sexy!!!!!!!!!!.

Definite hit, but $6400 seems a little too much for that set. Shop around.

Default i personally would get Kinesis or Fikse over HRE's ;) but those are beautiful wheels

yummy !!

by the way, its not a "fake" 19", its just the design ... because the step lip is technically stronger than the reverse lip which makes it look big and bling, but the step lip is stronger

go look at all the high end sports cars that are on the track, they use step lips
