They most likely did nothing illegal. To be honest bro, what they did is prey on your greed. You knew something was not right, like the speakers were aquired illegally, and were therefore super-cheap. Your impulse to get something valuable through questionable means made you decide to act spontaneously, without reflection. The lesson, if learned, is more valuable then the monetary loss. I hope you feel better after you flip them to the next unsuspecting guy. Anyway, I keep an eye out for your car when I'm in Philly...no-see. You should have come to the get-together. later- Clark

I've seen those dudes in SoCal too. They've tried to sell them to me a couple times. The first time, they whole thing just didn't feel right so I said no thanks, not to mention I was in college and didn't have the $300 or whatever they wanted.

The second time, I had already heard about the scam so I told them to f#ck off in nicer words.

A coworker of mine did buy some, I think he talked them down to about $150, so he didn't get burned too badly. They didn't sound too bad, probably somewhere around the sound quality of a KLH speaker. The speakers felt pretty light, so I doubt they can handle much power though.

I would throw them up in the garage if I were you. Find a cheap reciever/amp, hookup a sony discman, and play some Pink Floyd while you're changing the oil of something.

i unfortunately fell for the same scam! the guy told me hes a delivery guy and his boss overstocked without knowing so hes gotta get rid of the speakers. fortunately i talked him down to 150 for the pair so i didnt get too badly burned, the speakers sound ok but you can tell their pos. i guess sometimes we have to learn the hard way!
