Default Watch out on your 1.8T, Coolant leak from waterpump at 52k miles...Now just going to get everything

done at this point, timing belt / waterpump / thermostat.

Brought the car over this morning to Streetwerke to have it checked out for a upcoming roadtrip, well once they saw the engine they noticed it was leaking coolant and called me...

I was hoping to get this job done at 60k, but it has now happened 8k earlier and naturally out of warranty.
I'm just happy to have it at a good shop and to have it fixed now...

I was pondering on selling the Avant, but at this point we will just hold onto it, and it may finally get a much deserved suspension upgrade in a few months...(I was putting off any major mods for this reason)

Default same here... i had a coolant leak develop at 75k *after* i did timing/water pump at 70..

i ignored the leak until 97k as it would go a month before i would have to refill, but the source turned out to be the waterpump and i ended up having to to the TB service again.

it was pretty crappy.

Default I had the same problem, WP started leaking after TB service

ECS replaced the water pump under warranty, and it was fine until it started leaking again 1.5yrs later.

Default i'm at 82k on my 1.8t and have lost no coolant.

being a brilliant black car in texas too i also figured it cause more wear and **** in the motor bay, but just recently there was some crackage to the coolant tank.
got the timing belt done at 62k at the local audi dealership (DFW audi) was about 1200-1300 for it, and i had a few other service things to take care of.
dfw audi, formerly baillegeron, is the nicest, and i've always had good experiences with their service.

probably, but it's tough to tell whether it was a fluke or not.
