the chance and drove home from work(14miles)with no problems. Went to another gas station and then filled up with no problems. I recall this happening to someone on this board and it was due to pressure build up in the tank. What causes this pressure in the gas tank?

I'll usually "force" it to take at least 14 gallons before i give up. To work around it, I try my best to fill my car up as soon as the warning light comes on.

i'm missing the little plastic chain that should be connecting my gas cap to the gas outlet. i have a 2004.5 and in the car manual, it shows the cap being connected with a plastic chain thing. am i missing something or is this normal?

yeah, i have the exact same thing. but i want to have the plastic chain on it just in case the cap ever falls off and rolls under the car.
have you checked your owners manual and seen the graphic of the cap with the chain?
any 04.5 owners have input?

I was down to about 10 miles left. When I get that low, I always poke the flap to allow air to escape, but this time, it took forever. Even after about a minute of letting it breathe, it still spit gas all down the side of my car. ![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
It took me like ten minutes to pump 3 gallons. It's never happened before, so I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only one.
