What amount over invoice is fair to pay?? A4 3.0

I am looking to purchase an A4 3.0 and several dealers told me the customary final offer is $1200-1500 over invoice. Is that true?

That sounds about right once you weed out

the extremes at either end of the purchasing curve.

5% over invoice is fair for both sides, but you don't want to get an Audi...

...unless you don't mind paying an extraordinary amount of money for repairs.

I've got a Dolphin grey 3.0 CVT on order due end of December. Price was $35,175 MSRP less $1200 double loyalty bonus (Former A6Q owner), less another $1804 for a price of $32,171. This is with the premium pkg. and sport rims if that helps. I believe cost is $31,878.
