I thought it was from my torn TIP so i replaced it with a neuspeed xtreme TIP, but the problem didnt go away. It sounds like someone blowing over a coke bottle right as the car hits full boost, but it either stops or becomes inaudible from engine/road noise after about 1k rpms. The noise only happens at or around full boost and I cannot think of what it can be.

In attempts to fix it, ive changed my TIP, swapped out my TB hose, checked the boost sensor on my FMIC and checked the vacuum hoses as best as i could. Current engine mods are GIAC FX, Forge 007A, Racetec FMIC, Neuspeed TIP, Neuspeed cat-back. FWIW, ive had the forge dv installed for a year and havent serviced it yet. it has approx. 15k miles on it so I dont know if that could be part of the problem.

I know the next step is probably to pressure test the intake system, but first i want to make sure its not something simple that someone else has dealt with.

I had a similar problem last week. I wound up having to replace my stock intercooler. A pressure test will tell you right away where the problem is coming from. There are some many little hoses that could be the source that i really think it's the only way to find out.

I have a shop that does everything on my car. I'm very far from a mechanic.

We actaully didn't even both pressure testing my car at all because just minutes before we were about to test it the guy who works on my car took a quick glance at the intercooler. there was say that it had been pissing oil all over the place. It was obvious this is where my leak was coming from so we just swapped that out and all was good.

Check out maybe the B5 S4 Board. I'm sure someone has a write up on making one. I've used one before and it's not a very difficult thing to make.
