Just want to know what the audiworld borg feels about this one. I am at 1,200 and dying to get some grunt in this baby and make it a stage 2 car now. Should I wait a bit more? Just install the exhaust and downpipe now..and then do the chip/injectors? For the life of me..I can't remember how long I waited on my S4 and S4 Avant..I am getting frickin old.

I don't see a reason to really wait any longer. Most tuners would say ~1000 miles, so I would think you are in the clear.

i went stage 2 at 5k, going to stage 2+ in a week.

i chipped at 23k and the car runs superb at 43k.

5K is ideal to work out gremlins. Were they your Audis? Curious to know why you went through so many

I am only having this B6 A4 for a 2 year lease..so if I wait too long for modding it will be time to turn it in. This is also a project car for Audiworld..hence the reason for quick mod application.

As for the car dealie...here is my story:

97 A4 2.8QM - bought in july 97..had for 50K miles..and about 3 years...sold it out of the lease, 1 year early

00 S4 - leased...had for 12 month, got audi to buy it back...customer satisfaction buyback

01 S4 Avant - replacement car for 00 S4..supplied by Audi of America. Had for about 13 months sold it back to a dealer for $33.5K (divorce, development of a race car, and need for a tow vehicle prompted the sale)

00 A4 1.8TQM - While as an auto broker I bought this car for myself..found someone interested in buying it..for a decent profit..so I sold it within about 10 days.

99 A4 1.8TQM - Bought this off an A4.org/Audiworld reader with 57K miles. Had it for the past 1.5 years, sold it with 83K miles.

05 A4 1.8TQ 6sp Ultrasport - current car.

500-1000 miles before modding. Exhaust may go on first, then after a few 100 miles, the "chip".

cool, that itself is a significant amount of modding to enjoy a while. i am doing the injectors next
