I've only dusted so far, and used a damp cloth, but if/when I do use something it will be Meguiars

Default Warm, damp cloth and paintbrush (m)

When I was younger I detailed cars for 9 years (yeah, I really loved it) and found that unless the dash/door panels are 'dirty' (meaning they actually have dirt/mud/scuffmarks on them), there is no need to use a cleaner. A damp cloth about the size of a dishtowel will remove dust, fingerprints and minor scuffs. The paintbrush will get rid of dust in vents and hard to reach spaces, like the radio and climate control buttons.

Good luck!

PS - don't use the cloth on the intrument panel as the plastic WILL SCRATCH over time. Use a soft, dry towel and Eagle One 20/20 window cleaner.

Thanks! So do you use products like ArmorAll at all? This is my first new car ever so I want to take real good care of it. Besides I really like detailing cars i'm just not very good at it yet. Any suggestions on waxes and exterior details would be appreciated too! I have a 1991 Honda CRX back home I've been taking real good care of, and have been using 3M Wax on it with good results. I've heard that this wax is not to be used too often because it can damage the paint...not sure how true this is.

Thanks,
Juan

My experience with detailing cars has been trial and error. There are certain products out there that just work better than others and some you might just like the way they work for you.

Here's a brief list of what I use

P21 S - Car Wash Soap
Viking - Sponges (3) wheels, lowers, and top part of car
One Grand Blitz Wax (paste)
Eagle One - Applicator Pad (2)
Eagle One - Quick Detail
Eagle One 20/20 or Sprayway - Window Cleaner
Coastal - Power Clean (for tires, wheel wells)
Any 100% cotton - Rags (4)
P21S - Wheel Cleaner (only use like once/month)
Paint Brush for detailing
Aerosol, anything water based - Tire Dressing
The Absorber - Chamois
Shop Towels (paper) for cleaning windows.

Direct any additional questions to my email address, good luck!

Frank

Default Blitz - One grand products..

I would recommend One grand products. For the money you can't beat it -- excellent results.. I waxed my car a week after delivery, went to the dealer to pick up my plates and put grins on them all. Better than new shine...
