Default Why on earth would you double clutch a modern car?

That used to be required before syncromesh, but on modern cars it does nothing useful, and if you have a real race tranny (crash box) with dog gears, you don't need the clutch at all except for first gear.. Even on my A1 VW I rarely used the clutch past first gear.

Default Some of us are still learning to downshift smoothly w/o double clutching.

i.e. me.
