Had that happen to me. I had a bad Transmission control unit. But could be anything transmission related. I would advise against driving it unless the dealer is very close to your house.

i got to drive it a little over the summer. I really like it. The sport suspension is very harsh, but that's personal preference. Handling is outstanding. She traded her TT225q in for it and likes the Z4 a lot better. I have to say though that she lives in Germany and the BMW prices over there are A LOT cheaper. If I look at the prices here I would have to say that it is very overpriced. Which is why I bought the 1.8t and not the 330ci :-)

I wouldn't mind owning one. The biggest price difference is that US BMW dealers are very unwilling to negotiate the price. Whereas it is not uncommen for a loyal BMW customer in Germany to get 15-20% off the sticker, if you are a good negotiator. So that makes BMWs a lot more affordable over there. The lowest I could get a BMW dealer here was 3% off. That's BS in my opinion. The audi folks where a lot easier to deal with.
