Many, most cars have logos just on one side. Logos on both sides seems way too busy, like a billboard across the back of your car. Totally blank seems, well, totally blank. Too custom, like you were just looking for something to do. My car actually seems "normal" to me.

... engine taxes?

Don't they tax engines over 2.0 litres pretty hard? You see some big bodied cars over there with 1.8 and 2.0 litre engines.

In two weeks on the autobahn, I saw one Cadillac STS, one Corvette, and about 700 Fiats.

PLus there's nowhere to park in European cities, by and large. Europeans must freak out at all of our American high school kids owning seriously bad rides at such a young age.

Thanks all for the clarification. I originally thought it was talking about the dealer tags, "Billy Bob's Car Emphorium", but now realize it is the manufacturers tags.

First of all the tax thing you're talking about only exist in southern europe... Here in Sweden they tax disels hard instead...

I debadge because I like the clean look that you get. The soapy look... (sounds goofy I know... =)

The reason you don't see many american cars is mainly because they cost a lot more than an equal european car (Audi for exampel...) and because we (most) european's think that the quality on an american car sucks... =)

And yes... we do freak out!!!!!!!! =)
