can cops still give you a ticket if you drive fast by them? or will they just give you a wreckless driving ticket. they cant "estimate" your speed can they?

Technically yes they can estimate your speed. My good friend was a cop in Peekskill NY and when he was doing his police training they taught him how to estimate speed. He was also told using the estimating speed method he could give a speeding ticket, just FYI. Although his town had no quota so he wrote like one speeding ticket every 3-4 months or so.

Cops in most jurisdictions can still "pace" you with their car's calibrated speedometer, either from front or behind. And they can pull you over even if they just judge you to be going fast, too, tho you may have better luck getting out of that kind of ticket in court. Of course, if you appear to really be flying, they'll call it reckless driving. I think most jurisdictions now give you 15 mph over the limit (under highway limit zones i.e., 55-75). anything over that is "reckless" or even falls under newer "agressive driving" violation categories & can really screw you points-wise!

& the V1 (or other radar detectors) detects radio waves emitted by police radar guns & other devices operating in the same frequency ranges. V1 probably also detects laser, as do many detectors. That's a new way cops measure speed, which is harder to detect. The V1 seems to do best at detecting laser, radar, or anything else. At least that's what Mike Valentine's handsome mug in the add tells me.

Keep in mind, if you're flying down a dark & deserted highway, any cop with instant-on radar will get you, detector or not. Radar detectors are great driving "aids" but they're definitely NOT shields! If you want to be invisible to radar, you'll need to get the special Neuspeed Stealth paintjob. So far, that is what I have been most impressed with on the unit. Seems that there's a lot of laser in Suffolk County, NY. Can anyone confirm?
