Screw this. All thems are n00bs. Get the 12000K variety.

If you want more purple don't go overboard with the K rating. The higher the temperature the less light output. 5400K are nice, 6000K are acceptable as well. Don't go any higher.
I for one am happy with my 4100K setup and have plenty of purple tinge at the cut off due to ecode projectors.

higher temp = less light output yes but certainly much more than any halogen lamp. 6000K are the
best of both worlds with a hint of purple. but for 'orovalley' i think he is hinting at a deep blue color which you can only get with 8000Ks. Anything more is pointless.
