Default What pressure to use when using Motive bleeder for brakes? (more)...

...My Bentley says "A pressure of at least 2 bar is required for bleeding the ESP hydraulic unit. Therefore always check the pressure setting on the bleeding device."

However...the instructions for the Motive say never go about 20 PSI or you could damage the master cylinder.

What pressure do you guys commonly use? Thanks!

Default 2 bar.

On the older systems if you pumped it to 2 bar the reservoir would explode, the new ones require 2 bar. I have the same bleeder and have had it up to 30 PSI and a multitude of cars and no problems.

Default Perfect...one other question...to bleed the clutch, Bentley says 2.5 Bar...

...I don't even believe the Motive goes that high...should I even bother with the clutch? I'm upgrading fluid to Motul 5.1 and just wanted to be thorough.

Default I wouldn't bother really.

But if you want to do it, 2 bar should be fine for the clutch.
