smudge out out license plate numbers? We drive around every day with them exposed, but when posting pics to our buds/buddettes on AudiWorld we block them out.
Can someone tell me what the danger is?
Thanks

...of their speedometers at 100 mph ( I think I saw one the other day) it is probably a good idea to blank out the license plates. The chances of an over-zealous cop just happening to surf these forums is next to none, but you never know. Otherwise, I agree, there are no serious dangers in my mind from not blanking out a plate, besides a chance to show off some mad Photoshop skillz
Unless everybody is afraid of all the women who love to stalk audi drivers? heh.

from your license plate.
Yes, they could do it by just going off cars they see on the road, but hey, why make it easier?
Especially if they're looking for a particular nice new A4 with a supercharger, lots of body mods, etc., just waiting to be stolen from a driveway from which they got the address for (from the license plate number).
They might not see one of those on the road everyday.
It's sort of like not giving out your social security number. It in itself doesn't give much about you, but it's easy to GET info about you with it.

good point!
But I suppose if there's a disturbed person visiting the forum that had it in for me, they could make my life miserable.
I had such a thing happen on another forum -- some psycho hassled me anyway they could -- good thing they didn't have my plates, as they can get an address from that.

I have heard of people videotaping their speeding exploits (one story about a guy in a ferrari comes to mind) and posting it on the net showing off, and then getting a ticket for it. I'm definitely not a lawyer, but I would say a picture would be prosecution exhibit 'A'.
