What is the recommended performance chip for a 2005 A4 1.8T

Re: I might actually...
A shop did it through the ODB port making the change completely software based, no physical changes to the eye. Very easy to do...Just give a shop $500 or so. "Happy with it", is an understatement. Better gas milage, over all the car runs better, and the power...wow! Words can only say so much. Lots of other things you can do with these cars too. Do some research and come by some week-end or after work if you like.

Cool, thank you. What shop did you do it at?
Dumb question: If it was completely software based, do they not use a chip at all? Do they just reprogram something?

The Car has a computer (chip if you like) called the ECU (stands for Electronic Control Unit? - I think), which is reprogrammed through the ODBC port. The ODBC port is used for diagnostics too.
