What RPM does the Boost kick in

Displacement: 1.8 liters (109 cu. in.)
Bore: 3.18 in.
Stroke: 3.40 in.
Compression ratio: 9.3.1
Horsepower (SAE net): 170 @ 5900 rpm
Torque: 166 lb/ft @ 1950-5000 rpm
Boost is also partially controlled by how quickly you move the throttle. The fly-by-wire decides if you are in a hurry or just loafing along, and decides how much boost to give you based on speed, not entirely depth of throttle movement. Quick sharp movements will create a sharper response, while gentle movements will give peak mileage.
The Tip also has 200 different programs that range from economy to sport. Again, throttle movement, vehicle speed, and accelerometers ( both for and aft as well as side to side ) help the trans decide what program it should use. You will notice that shifts rarely happen in a turn unless large throttle movements are detected. It holds a gear if you tap the brakes while going downhill. It takes as little as few miles to totally reset the Tip program. This is why the car sometimes feels sluggish after joining street traffic if you have been highway cruising.
If somebody has been grannying the car for a long time, unplug the battery ( yes, you'll have to reset clock and such ) for about 10 minutes to wipe the memory clean.

Interesting response April/verdegrrl!
Are you saying that the amount of boost is more than just a function of engine revolutions and higher volumes and velocity of exhaust gas?
Can I there fore deduct that there is some bypass/release valve controlled by the engine control unit?
Thanks,
Daniel
