Default What is the skidpad rating (g) for the A4 w/sport?

Car and Driver clocked a 3.0 without sport at .8g. What if it had the sport package?

Default The problem with skidpad numbers is that

it doesn't convey what the car feels like in the real world. Some cars with high numbers just aren't all that confidence inspiring in real life. If boils down to feedback.

There was an interesting study done a while ago that showed that the average driver never used more than 60% of the car's total lateral acceleration - with cars that had an average of .8g. There are plenty of "ultimate" street cars over 20 years old that with the correct rubber, pulled over 1.0g. Why don't family and sports cars offer that ability these days ? Nobody uses the capability and there are usually comfort issues to be traded away. I've noticed that most cars have hovered around .8g.

I've been in cars pulling over 1.0g, and I can tell you it feels like being in a centrifuge. Think of a roller coaster but on pavement. Most people upchuck pretty fast :-)

Default I've read that the emergency lane change is much more accurate....

because it takes into account the chassis's response to the dramatic weight transfer under those extreme conditions.

Default skidpad is really sensitive to tire compound/size and the how grippy the pad surface is

BTW check your mail in a minute
I was at AMS last night, picking up a the (now chipped) B6
