What the Traction warning light is all about?
The traction warning lamp (the yellow one)of my A4 1.8T quattro lights up frequently for the past few days. The weather is fine with no rain. It usually occur when driving up a hill from start(at normal speed only) and suddenly the yellow sign lights up indefinitely. However, the computer self checking system doesn't indicate any fault at all. The sign just doesn't go out until I restart the engine. Everything seems OK until the same situation occur again.
The manual explained the traction light may light up indefinitely during driving and it suggest restart the engine. However, it doesn't explain why this would happen! This has never happened for the past whole year until recently. I remembered having slipped the clutch once during start off with high reving of the engine and the traction light turns on a few days later. Will it be related?

The clutch isn't related. It could be an intermittent problem with one of the ESP sensors (m)
The light comes on solid when a problem is detected with part of the ESP system. When it is lit solid in this manner, the system is disabled as a safety precaution.
Since it has been happening for you regularly, it sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.
