What is this WIRE? Do I need it for aftermarket HU?

What is this WIRE? Do I need it for aftermarket HU?
I've gone and replaced my Audi Concert stereo (2004 A4 1.8T) with an aftermarket Clarion HU.
I'm in an underground parking and 4 floors down. Before i swapped out the Concert, i could get all the FM stations crystal clear. Now with the aftermarket HU, it's just static.
Am i missing something? There is a wire (baige/yellow box shape connector) beside the antenna cable. What is that for? And if i don't have it connected to the aftermakret HU, does it do anything?
