Default I agree. He signed a contract.

It's not about right and wrong. It's seems silly to bring morality into this. If anything, it's the wrong thing to pay the dealership. They are violating the terms of their contract. They are not entitled to the $225, and I would absolutely not give it to them.

I don't know how your dealership works, but at mine, there's pretty much no connection between the service people and the sales guys. I can't imagine how they'd take it out on you come service time, especially since all those service guys want five stars on their surveys.

Default I wouldn't phrase it that way, but I agree.

It's not like you're out to screw them. It's more like "Don't screw yourself."

Default I'd suggest say that you signed the contract, but would be amenable to some osrt of compromise...

maybe an extended warranty, free service, or gift from the audi catalog. basically, they can't make you sign a new contract, but maybe let them know that it'd be possible for them to make you want to sign the contract

Default Thanks for the advice everybody ...

I suppose I will pay it, just because in my business sometimes I eat my mistakes and sometimes I'll go to the customer and explain that there were extenuating circumstances. I won't bore you with the explanation for the dealer's error, but my situation was odd to say the least and it's understandable that they made this mistake.

I'm still pissed off that I didn't even get a freakin' coffee mug or hat or keychain for spending nearly $40k on a car.

I think I'll just split the difference with them and call it a day.

Thanks for all of your thoughts.

Default You need to find out what the charge is for, if it is a charge related to financing they can cancel.

Also at times, contracts are written to give them the flexability to demand payment or pay you if there are changes that need to be made. Also, the $250 may be in the contract and you may legitemately owe them the $250
