What would you pay? 02 A4 @ 70k w/ sludge damage

Hi all,

I have a 2002 A4 5-speed w/ sport package. It has 70k miles and recently took a dump due to oil sludge, of course audi wont pay for a rebuild. At a min it needs a new cam chain tensioner and a new oil pickup tube.

What do you guys think I should expect to get for this? I am thinking about selling it.

Why won't AOA do anything for you since they knew that early B6's were prone to....

oil sludge issues given their initial recommended 10K OCI with dino oil.

engine is junk probably needs full rebuild. plus whatever else hasn't been taken care of. You know neglected sludge assumes other neglect.

That's easy take it to the dealer and get it fixed under the 8yr/80K sludge warranty, don't know if

the 80k is correct but an 02 with only 70k I believe qualifies for that sludge warranty.

thanks. i was expecting 5 to 6k.

i haven't taken it to the dealer yet because i can't find my last oil change receipt and i figured audi and the dealer will tell go me to go f' myself.

but then again, it's worth a shot.
