Default What are your thoughts on buying used coilovers?

I was thinking about going for the Shocks/Springs combo, but saw some Tein Basics coilovers with <5,000 miles on them for a couple hundred less.

I'd skip on used suspension components unless the price is low and you're doing the install yourself

Kinda like buying used brakes, as long as they are not worn and it is a good price then go for it.

Default Yeah he's my friend..

I can personally attest that they are practically new, they have legitimately only been on the car for like 6 months give or take. He has it set as a nice ride height, and they handle beaufifully, but he has a kit that is a little low so iirc that is why he is getting rid of them. But he's a good kid, I'm over at his house every couple of weeks. I would do it. They're like brand new. Plus I could come watch the install.

Default Depends on price, age, etc...

I bought a set of used H&R coilovers from another AWer, they were less than a year old and less than 10k miles on them. I bought them for about 2/5 the retail price, so why the hell not?

That was my previous car (2.7T), but this time around I am buying NEW since nobody seems to be selling used Bilstein PSS9s for the A6.

Default Thanks for the feedback everyone...

Hopefully I will be pulling the trigger on some suspension within the next week or so. Will let you know the outcome.

I probably wouldn't buy used suspension unless the deal was too good to pass up on
