what's the best method to ship wheels?

to have them send me a cashier's check or money order for the cost of just the wheels first. once it clears, i then send them the wheels and give them a copy of the shipping receipt (with the price). once they receive the wheels, they send me another check (usually just a personal one, since this is a smaller amount) for the cost of shipping.

we ship and receive large computers all the time so there are always a few empty heavyweight boxes lying around that i can slice up for use. for padding, i usually use bubble-wrap (the kind with the really small bubbles).

for instance, while usages like "wheel and tire package" indicate that it refers only to the metal portion, it is common to also say "i put on a new set of wheels" and mean the whole sha-bang.
so, that's why i prefer "rims" and "tires". i never refer to the outer edge as the "rim" -- that's the outer lip. but that's just me :-)
